Seeing Tracey Ullman back on television here in the UK, in a hilarious chatshow interview with Paul O'Grady (Lily Savage that was) and with Imelda Staunton no less (who enthralled us in GYPSY the other week) reminded me of how much we enjoyed Tracey's shows back in the 1990s when she was probably the funniest woman on television. Here (again, thanks to Colin) is her gem as that camp air steward, its compulsively watchable and just as funny as I remembered in 1992. Lets hope we see more of Tracey over here now, she is also in INTO THE WOODS of course.
It was great seeing Catherine as herself in the recent Sondheim show ASSASSINS, of course we also love her foul-mouthed Nan and Lauren and Bernie the sex mad Irish nurse, and all of her brilliant characters. Come, Leonard ....
