100 today: Danielle Darrieux

Happy 100th birthday to another French legend, the effortlessly elegant Danielle Darrieux, whom we have posted on here a few times. 

In movies since the 1930s, we know her best from classics like Ophuls' MADAME DE ..., ALEXANDER THE GREAT, THE GREENGAGE SUMMER, Demy's LES DEMOISELLES DE ROCHEFORT, MARIE OCTOBRE, Ozon's 8 WOMEN, Mankiewicz's FIVE FINGERS etc.  Reviews at label.
She joins that select group including Olivia De Havilland, Kirk Douglas, Vera Lynn ...

    Thanks so much for posting this Mike, some months ago I noticed DD was approaching 100, meant to note the date but forgot about it...luckily, thanks to checking out your wonderful website last night, we were able to change plans and watch DD in the ever-wonderful Les Demoiselles de Rochefort, a perfect celebration of this great star's birthday.

      Always did, always will .... aim to please that is! :) I remember when Luise Rainer reached 100. When she was about 90 I wanted to invite her to the Foyle Film Festival and was turned down on the grounds that nobody would ever have heard of her!
