Thanks indeed to Daryl for posting this nice shot of Projector favourites Sophia Loren and Clifton Webb in BOY ON A DOLPHIN, 1957, on my Facebook page for my birthday. Delicious !
2,000 POSTS DONE!, so I am posting less frequently, but will still be adding news, comments and photos.. As archived, its a ramble through my movie watching, music and old magazine store and discussing People We Like [Loren, Monroe, Vitti, Romy Schneider, Lee Remick, Kay Kendall, Anouk & Dirk Bogarde, Delon, Belmondo, Jean Sorel, Belinda Lee; + Antonioni, Hitchcock, Wilder, Minnelli, Cukor, Joni Mitchell, David Hockney etc]. As Pauline Kael wrote: "Art, Trash and the Movies"!
Dedications: My four late friends Rory, Stan, Bryan, Jeff - shine on you crazy diamonds, they would have blogged too. Then theres Garry from Brisbane, Franco in Milan, Mike now in S.F. / my '60s-'80s gang: Ned & Joseph in Ireland; in England: Frank, Des, Guy, Clive, Joe & Joe, Ian, Ivan, Nick, David, Les, Stewart, the 3 Michaels / Catriona, Sally, Monica, Jean, Ella, Anne, Candie / and now: Daryl in N.Y., Jerry, John, Colin, Martin and Donal.
Happy Birthday! Hope it was a good one.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture. Boy on a Dolphin is one of two Clifton Webb films I still have to catch up with, the other is the last of the Mr. Belvedere movies. TCM shows them occasionally so hopefully soon.
Thanks. You will love BOY ON A DOLPHIN, this is where Loren really impacted on international audiences, Clifton is terrific and all that Greek scenery !
