Some lovely shots of Romy Schneider from Visconti's LUDWIG (1972) where she nicely reprises her earlier SISSI role as Elizabeth of Austria, here she finds a lot of brittle humour in the more mature Sissi, and also Chabrol's INNOCENTS WITH DIRTY HANDS in 1975 which is really a valentine to Romy - it is all about her and she has a great variety of looks and hairstyles as she deals with cheating husband, lover and those policemen .... and also that recently re-released uncompleted 1964 Clouzot INFERNO! (More on Romy at label)
Such a beauty, as well as a wonderful actress! She's someone I really wish was still here with us.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, she would be marvellous in her '70s. But such a prolific international career, I still have several of hers to catch up with!
ReplyDeleteI do as well...I've put myself to the happy task of seeing all of Visconti's films I can obtain in order, and am very eager to get to "Ludwig"! I'm also eager to see "La Piscine" - its hard to imagine a more beautiful couple than Romy and Alain Delon.
ReplyDeleteYou will enjoy the Visconti's - lots of photos Friday ! Romy and Delon also co-star in Losey's 'Assassination of Trotsky' in 72, there will be a photo from that tomorrow... 'Le Piscine' is a perfect late '60s film.
